We're here to support College of Engineering students transitioning to the Storrs campus as you pursue your academic, professional, and personal goals. Whether you're looking for guidance, community, or resources, we're excited to help you make the most of your journey.
Students attending the UConn Storrs campus have access to all 15 Engineering majors offered. Below, you will find more information on transitioning to the Storrs campus, advising information, student life, resources and campus navigation.
Considerations Prior to a Campus Change
Housing
- Will you require housing? If so, review www.reslife.uconn.edu for more information about housing application deadlines, rates and options.
- Will you be commuting and require a parking pass? If so, review www.park.uconn.edu for more information about parking options and applying for a permit.
Cost
- Do you receive financial aid? If so, you should update your FASFA to account for the increase in total expenses anticipated by attending Storrs due to the increase in student fees and housing.
- To learn more about the anticipated cost of being a Storrs campus student, review https://bursar.uconn.edu/.
Campus Change Information
Campus Change Website: www.campuschange.uconn.edu
Eligibility: Admitted College of Engineering students may be eligible to campus change to Storrs prior to 54 credits. The first-year sequence of Engineering requirements is available at all regional campuses.
- Some Engineering majors can complete four semesters at their regional campus, while others must campus change to Storrs earlier than 54 credits to remain on track for graduation. Several second-year Engineering courses are available distance learning at the regional campuses.
- It is strongly recommended that you consult with Shoshana Armington (shoshana.armington@uconn.edu) regarding the appropriate timeline to plan a campus change to Storrs based on your major, degree progression, and campus course availability.
Deadlines: The deadline to apply for a campus change varies each semester, as it is connected to the housing application deadline, however, the deadline will be at the start of the semester prior to the intended semester in Storrs.
- Deadlines are posted on www.campuschange.uconn.edu.
- The College of Engineering is not involved in the review of campus change requests. Please consult with your regional campus’ Student Services Office if you have additional questions regarding the campus change approval process or deadlines.
Transportation
Will you be commuting and require a parking pass? If so, review www.park.uconn.edu for more information about parking options and applying for a permit.
Information Sessions & Tours
- Attend a campus change information session at your regional campus to plan for the transition. More information about the dates and times will be available on www.campuschange.uconn.edu.
- Schedule a tour of Storrs (Storrs Campus Tour Options) or register for a Storrs Preview program through Orientation Services.
