Lead Peer Advisor (Major: Environmental Engineering)

Environmental Engineering

Academic Background: I became interested in the environment in high school and decided on trying a major in environmental engineering because I wanted to be a part of the solution to the countless environmental issues we face. I co-founded the UConn chapter of the American Environmental Engineers and Scientists and participate in several other clubs and organizations on campus. I am also a member of the Honors Program, through which I have conducted research and done honors conversions of classes in environmental engineering.

Research Interests: I spent the last year conducting research with Dr. Vadas centered around ion-selective electrode (ISE) sensors that track ammonium levels in soil. These sensors are useful in agricultural applications because they can provide information to farmers about fertilization schedules and amounts. I will use this research to write my Honors Thesis!

Professional Experience: Previously, I worked as an Engineering Intern with the Chelmsford (MA) Department of Public Works and as an Environmental Health and Safety Intern with Lactalis U.S. Yogurt. In summer 2026, I worked as an Environmental Intern with the Nobis Group where I was able to conduct field work and participate in environmental remediation projects.

Interests/Hobbies: I am a member of the Club Track and Field Team at UConn because I love to run! Also, I am a member of the Society of Women Engineers, which is a very fun way to meet other women in engineering and hang out with them every week. Also, I love binge-watching TV shows and being outside whenever I can!
