Prepare for Your Advising Appointment and Registration

For continuing students, registration for the next semester begins the ninth week of class. Check the academic calendar for specific dates, along with details on withdrawal deadlines and other important dates.

All Engineering students are required to complete advising prior to registration. This requirement will be met through group advising for students who are assigned to a professional staff advisor.
For students assigned to faculty advisor, mandatory advising can be met through individual appointment, or alternate arrangement to discuss course selection. Be sure to connect with your advisor prior to registration opening to find out their preferred method of meeting mandatory advising.
Check the Academic Calendar and make note of all important term dates.
Check your registration enrollment appointment (aka "pick time") in StudentAdmin. (This is determined by how many credits you have completed.)
Check if you have any holds on your account and resolve them ASAP. It's important to do this prior to the start of registration. Generally, students with required advising will have an “Advising Hold” in StudentAdmin.
If you have reached junior status (54 credits or higher), you will need to complete a preliminary plan of study before you can register. You will have a hold on your account until this is completed. DO NOT delay. Be sure to complete this in advance of your pick time.
Conduct a self-audit prior to meeting with your academic advisor.
