Materials Science & Engineering

Major and anticipated graduation date: Materials Science and Engineering, May 2025

Academic Background: I took ENGR 1000 on a whim when I was a nursing student and fell in love with Materials Science. While I found the introductory engineering course very difficult, my calculus TA Cole Durham really inspired me to push through and I have enjoyed the beauty of math ever since.

Research InterestsI am interested in materials characterization and computational materials science. I am currently learning Density Functional Theory and hope to apply it to materials science.

Professional Experience: I am excited to do my internship at Pratt & Whitney in Summer 2024 as a Materials Processing intern. I am hopeful I can do great work at Pratt & Whitney and also contribute to the RTX ASPIRES employee resource group.

Interests/HobbiesI am very involved in the Asian American Cultural Center through employment and as an Asian/ Asian American Mentoring Program Mentor (AMP). In AMP, I serve as a mentor to two Asian identifying mentees and help them through their first year at UConn. In my free time I enjoy taking walks and listening to music. My current favorite artists are BTS and SZA.
